Do you really know how long your makeup has been sitting on your counter for? Or better yet, do you know how long make up is good for before it expires? Today, we will share with you how long your makeup products are actually okay and safe to use and how to tell if they need to hit the bin.

Mascara: 2 to 3 months maximum. All eye products can carry a lot if bacteria and is very dangerous too use too long. 

Foundation: 6 to 12 months. Keeping it In a warm environment can promote bacteria growth so try storing in cool, moist places instead. 

Face powder/ powder blush: these can both be good for up to 2 years.

Eyeshadows: believe it or not, should only be kept for up to 3 months. I am defiantly guilty of not getting rid if these. 

Lipstick and lipglosses: both if these products are good for around a year. Of course if you have been sick recently, they could have some germs but otherwise, these last quite some time.
