First Impressions: Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

Hey guys! How have you been?
Lash Sensational Washable Mascara - Maybelline New YorkI honestly haven't tried any new products in such a long time. I am working on trying to use up what I have but I cracked and decided to purchase a mascara. There are so many new ones at the drugstore but the Maybelline Lash Sensational has been on my list for quite some time.

The claims of a "full fan effect" and the "liquid ink formula" really intrigued me for this one. I must say that I am quite impressed as well! The fan brush has short bristles on one side and on the other side, the bristles are long and thin.

To apply, I use the short bristles (the inside of the curve) to coat my lashes and get right in by the roots of the lashes. On the second coat, I go in with the other side to separate my lashes and fan them out.

Pros: I have the waterproof version and I find that it does a great job of curling AND holding the curl throughout the day... which is a honest miracle.
Cons: I find that this mascara is a little difficult to remove before bed. I have to rub a little harder with my coconut oil to fully remove it off my lashes but I think it is worth it.

First Impressions: Mac Itchy&Scratchy&Sexy Lipglass

Hello everyone! Today was a very exciting day for me! This is the day my Mac Marge Simpson Lipgloss was coming! If you are a makeup junkie, or a Mac fanatic, then you know the excitement of ordering from limited edition collections!

This is my very first Mac Lipglass and I'm quite impressed. As you may know, I am not really a lipgloss fan. I prefer the texture and pigmentation of a lipstick but I might be a fan of both now. The consistency is quite thick and i feel like it really hugs the lips. It is somewhat sticky but still comfortable to wear on the lips. In my opinion, the thick texture prevents fading and ensures that the gloss lasts long on the lips.

2 coats applied
As for this shade in particular, Mac describes this shade as an "Electric Blue Violet". Personally, I agree. I can detect subtle blue and pink shimmer throughout the gloss but it isn't very noticeable on the lips. This colour can be applied sheer for a wash of colour or built up for an opaque purple lip. I prefer to wear it sheer and thinned out but i love the intense unique colour the opaque application gives.

I'm so happy I purchased this lipglass. The packaging is adorable and the gloss itself is very nice. I can see myself picking up more the future :)

First Impression: Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Mascara

Hey guys! Today we have a first impression on a new product for you. It is the newest mascara from Maybelline. We bought it at Superstore for around $7.

So we tried this for the first time today and we were a little disappointed. It claims 12x the volume and I ended up with in my opinion, spider looking lashes. Personally, it didn't give me that full, thick lash look I look for BUT, it didn't
clump and that is a plus for us :)

First Impression: L'oreal Lashout Butterfly Mascara

Today we purchased one if the new mascaras from L'oreal called Lashout Butterfly. We have blackest black and it's waterproof and we got it on sale for $7.99. Normally, where we live, this mascara ranges anywhere from $9.99-$14.99 so we took advantage of the deal and decided to try something new.

The interesting thing about this mascara that stands out is the brush. It is elongated at the end which claims to flick out your lashes and create a "butterfly effect". This brush also seems like it does a great job at separating my lashes and it is super black. I was also surprised how easy it was to take off as well which is fantastic that it isn't that difficult.

If you would like a full review after us using this product for a few weeks, be sure to let us know in the comments down below! :)

First Impressions: Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

This is an edition to the line of Naked palettes. It features 6 eye shadows. 5 are matte and 1 has a bit of shimmer. This palette retails for $28-$35 and can be purchased at a local Sephora.
All of these shades are neutral and can be paired with shadows from the Naked 1 & 2 palettes or any eye shadows in your collection. They are super blendable and the colors are great. For me, Venus, Foxy and W.O.S. are great all over the lid or under the brow. Naked 2 is a great transition color for your crease and Faint and Crave are great for the outer "v". Depending if you would prefer brown or black.
Overall, this palette is a great investment and is very versatile :)

First Impressions: L'oreal Voluminous Waterproof

Hey guys! So today, I will be reviewing L'oreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara. I have heard tons of hype about this mascara for a while now so I thought I would try it out.

I am impressed with the waterproof power. For me, I like waterproof because I have sensitive eyes and they tend to water and also, to hold my curl. Sadly, this mascara did not hold my curl as much as I would have liked. My lashes are slightly drooping by the end of the day so this a down side for me.

I do love the darkness of the product. Thick, black lashed look stunning with any eye makeup look and you can accomplish that look with this mascara.

Overall, I would recommend this product. It isn't as great as I thought it would be but it is a good mascara from the drugstore.

First Impressions: Covergirl Clean Liquid Makeup Foundation (Sensitive Skin)

Okay so you guys are probably why I have another foundation review up so soon. Well turns out, the other one ended up not being my right color. Somehow it oxidized throughout the day and turned orange. So, I purchased this one instead.

I purchased this at target for around $7. I got it Sensitive Skin only because I didn't know if my face would break out or not so I hoped this formulation would be better. So far, the color is perfect for me. It blends very nicely as well.
This foundation is lightweight coverage so it doesn't just mask over your face. You will see your major imperfections. I find this a pro for my skin though. It is still young and clogging my pores all the time is definitely not a goal of mine.

A con for me is that it is quite thick. I find the consistency fine on my face but it's very hard to get out of the bottle. Therefore, I use a q-tip to scoop a little out and I use a makeup sponge to blend it into my face.

Overall, this is good for anyone looking for a foundation that isn't heavy. It keeps me not shine free throughout the day which is nice as well.

First Impression: Covergirl Stay fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation

This is the beginning of a new "series" I will now feature on the blog. Basically, it is a short review of a product after one or two uses. This is not at all a full on review. If you would like one of those on the product, please feel free to let me know in the comments below.

Today, I will be doing a quick first impression on the Covergirl Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation. This is a fairly new product to the drugstore. I first found out about this on YouTube and was interested in trying it because of all the great reviews.

I purchased this at my local Superstore for around $13. I find this an okay price for drugstore foundation. I have used this product 2 times. Today was the first time I wore it all day. I was pleasantly surprised with how well it held up. I was quite active today and it did not come off one single bit. It is a matte finish and dries to a powder like texture shortly after application. Another pro is that it has SPF as well.

One of my favorite things about this foundation, is the packaging. The pump makes easier application and it much more sanitary. My favorite way to apply this is over my moisturizer with a stippling brush. It gives the foundation an airbrush like finish.

Overall, this foundation is great for anyone who wants medium to buildable coverage. It's a lightweight, long lasting product that is great for beginners or anyone who wants to try a good drugstore foundation.

If my opinion changes on this product, I will be sure to let you know.
