Hey everyone! Today I have a review on nailpolish! I recently started a new job which requires a lot of hands on activity. I immediately noticed how quickly my nailpolish will chip when at work. I decided that I want my nails to look nice but still last and the Sally Hansen Gel Polish gives me the best of both worlds.
This polish promises 14 days of colour and shine, easy removal and no UV light needed to cure the gel finish. I agree that this is a long lasting formula but no colour has lasted a full 14 days on me. It does however last a good week to week and a half which is plenty for me. I am the kind of girl that likes to change my polish quite often anyways.
My favourite colour I purchased is Street Flair which is a muted grape purple. It is a mature looking colour which is great for any occasion. I also love the amount of shine the Top Coat adds when applied and that the shine lasts throughout the wear of this polish!

Review: Sephora Cream Lip Stain
Hey guys! So today I will be doing a review on a liquid lipstick I just picked up. These are the Sephora Cream Lip Stains. I purchased mine for $16 here in Canada but in the U.S. they retail for only $14. They claim to provide beautiful, long-lasting colour and this past week, I put it to the test.
I bought mine in the shade 13 Marvelous Mauve and as you can see, it is a gorgeous neutral pink with mauve undertones. This colour is totally on trend right now and is a perfect "Kylie Jenner Lip Colour".
When applied, this is a thin, watery formula that dries down to a very matte finish. Exfoliating your lips before application is a MUST with this product. The matte finish can accentuate dry patches and flaky skin super easily. I also recommend moisturizing with a lip balm before but removing right before application.
Smooth application with great pigmentation |
After eating a meal (spaghetti to be exact haha) my lips still looked great! Even after a saucey meal and continuously wiping my mouth during dinner, my lip colour looked awesome! As you can see, it has worn off a little bit in the center of my lips but that is expected. Plus, it is only noticeable when I make a ridiculous kissy face :)
After meal |
Inside of lips after a meal |
At the end of the day, this lip stain had lasted well over 9 hours. The colour still looked great and it didn't kill my lips while removing. These did however really dry out my lips which is an obvious "turn off" with a lip product.
P.S. I'm looking forward to trying out the Joe Fresh Liquid Lipsticks next, let me know if you have tried them and what your thoughts are.
Talk to you guys soon!

Review: Milani Stay Put Brow Color

The price point for this bad boy is around $10 and I picked it up at Kmart, but you can purchase from anywhere that sells Milani Cosmetics. The package claims that this product "defines, fills and sculpts brows", that it is "long wearing and waterproof" and it also adds that it comes with a "professional applicator". I bought mine in the shade dark brown and I love how it isn't too warm toned. Many brow products have a red undertone but this isn't the case here. Cool toned brow shades give a more natural finish.
To apply, I coat the end of the brush with a bit of product. This is super easy to use since it almost mimics a gel liner for your brows! I then outline the bottom of my brow to sculpt, and I flick the product up throughout my brow.
To remove, I use my oil based makeup remover that I use to get off my waterproof mascara.
P.s. I just wanted to say hi to all my international readers! It's great being able to communicate with people across the world! Leave a comment down below, letting us know what country you are from! Hugs from Canada xoxo

Review: Physicians Formula Bronze Booster Pressed Bronzer

Today I will be raving about the Physicians Formula Bronze Booster Pressed Bronzer. I picked mine up on sale at Shoppers Drugmart for only $12.99. That is such a great deal because at Walmart, this exact same bronzer is priced at $17.99...and I thought Walmart was the cheap place!!

After watching many more than just one bronzer review on YouTube, this one seemed to be popping up in everyone's favourite videos and I now know why! It is absolutely perfect! The shade is neutral so it isn't going to look too warm toned (orange) or too cool toned (grey). It really looks like you've just spent a little time in the sun. It shows up just enough on my light skin but you could definitely build it up for some more colour.
Also, look for a special mail in rebate for $10 back on certain Physician Formula Bronzers. I mailed mine in and it virtually made my bronzer $3!!

Review: Mac Cinderella Lipstick "Royal Ball" / Mac Rant
Hello everyone! Today I have a review for you on a new limited edition lipstick from Mac. It is from the latest Cinderella collection that was just released last week. I picked up the colour Royal Ball which is a nude/light pink in a lustre finish. It is quite sheer as the formula suggests but still gives pretty good pigmentation once applied on the lips. The formula is moisturizing and smooth but it does make the fine lines in your lips more prominent. This lipstick wears well for around 3 hours without eating and drinking.

For most of us, these limited edition Mac Collections are more of a collectors thing. To be able to collect makeup with different packaging and that are unique is super cool. Lot's of the times though, these collections aren't very practical and that's the case with this one. Although the other products in this collection are all neutral and practical for us light skin ladies, what about women of colour? This collection sadly won't do anything for darker people which in my opinion, is disappointing.
Mac has been releasing tons of collections lately but in my opinion; quality over quantity!

Review: Rimmel Provocalips 16H Kiss Proof Lip Color
Hey guys! Today I have another review for you on a product I recently bought and fell inlove with! This is from Rimmel and it's the Provocalips 16H Kiss Proof Lip Color. I purchased mine from Target for $7.99 and i have the colour I'll call you. It was a little hard choosing the colour because the tube isn't see through. So just because the packaging is one colour, doesn't mean you will get that exact same colour on the inside, but they are pretty close.

Overall, my thoughts are super positive. I think they have a good colour range or shades for everyone and the idea behind this is awesome. Many highend companies have come up with lip stains lately but this is the first drugstore product that is similar to the more expensive ones.
Check out my update on this product here: http://mademoisellemaquillage23.blogspot.ca/2015/02/update-rimmel-provocalips-16h-kiss.html
The reason I bought this product is because I like matte lip colours a lot and the idea of having something transfer proof that you could eat while wearing or kiss your significant other, without it coming off or wearing away is mind blowing.
The idea behind this is that you apply the colour from the one side of the tube, you wait a minute for it to get super sticky and tacky and then you use the balm side to rehydrate your lips and add the glossy shine back. In my opinion, you could wear it matte as well but the balm will improve the longevity of your lip colour as well.

Review: Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder

This powder does a great job of blurring imperfections and setting my foundation in place. It also keeps my face matte without giving it a flat look throughout the day. The best thing about this is honestly the price. You can't beat the price tag! Plus this product is apparently comparable to the Makeup Forever HD Setting Powder which is a wopping $40!!
To conclude, this product is worth trying out for the small cost but it is also very effective. I love the finish it gives to my face and how it keeps me matte all day long!

Review: Real Techniques Setting Brush

The thing I like the most about the brush is the size. It fits perfectly under my eyes and into my inner corners to set my concealer for the day. Honestly, there isn't much to say about this brush. I think it is useful in my routine since I use it everyday!

Review: Mac Prolongwear Concealer (Blogmas Day 2)

The reason I purchased this concealer was because I ran out of my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer the other day and I needed a new concealer. I found that the Maybelline one didn't cover as well as I would've liked it to and this MAC one had a lot of great reviews.
The texture of the product is creamy and smooth and more runny than I thought. This, in my opinion isn't a down fall at all, if anything it makes it easier to blend. I started using a fluffy brush to blend out the concealer under my eyes but I didn't like how it looked kind of cakey. I found that for me personally, the best way to apply this is by patting it in under my eyes with my ring finger. I can still blend it out nicely but I maintain the amazing coverage from this concealer.
The packaging is also great! It comes in a little glass vial with a plastic pump that is very clean and sanitary. The only con is that A LOT of product of the pump so I would use like half a pump. Just be careful to not quirt out too much.
I would recommend this concealer to anyone looking for a long lasting heavy coverage concealer. This works great on both the undereye area and on blemishes around the face as well.

Review: KISS InstaWave Automatic Curler
Hello everyone! Yet again another blog post for you guys and this one I am super excited about. I have been working on a project for a little while and I can now finally share it with you. Today I will be reviewing the newest curling appliance on the market and this is a wowzer too!
Some people may know the brand KISS for all the nail products they have. They make amazing press on nails and have a line of the polish's with the little thin brush for making nail art, but recently, KISS has come out with the InstaWave! A fully automatic tangle-free curler that instantly creates beautiful curls!
There are a few brands that have this same "hands-free" idea to their curling iron. This one though is easy for anyone to use and it's okay if you are right OR left handed because you can use it from any angle. It also has 2 heat settings with a low/high switch and a maximum temperature of 420.
The InstaWave features a Curl Dial with left/right curl directions. Basically, by the slide of a button, you can control if your hairs winds up to the right or to the left. Alternating between the 2 directions gives the most natural look to your curls.
One feature that I really like about this hair tool is that it automatically shuts off after 90 minutes. This is a great safety feature because sometimes people can tend to leave the house without turning off their curling iron. Yikes!
Overall, I think this is a great product. It cuts down the time it takes to curl my whole head of super thick hair. It was also super easy to use and is less scary than the automatic curling irons that literally suck up your hair into the machine. This is a tangle free, fool proof curling iron that will make everyones routine a little easier.

Review: One Direction Liquilights Glow Lip Gloss & Giveaway
Hey guys! Super exciting post for you today!

One Direction has their own makeup line! Today I will be sharing my thoughts on the new Liquilights Glow Glosses! They are made to be super sparkly during the day and they glow under UV black light after dark.

The formula of these glosses are enriched with natural oils and vitamin E to keep your lips soft and hydrated all day and all night. The texture of the gloss is quite thin and not sticky or goopy at all which I liked. There is a lot of glitter in the glosses though and I can feel it on my lips which bugs me a little bit but it wasn't horrible.
These glosses wore for around 2 hours with nothing underneath. The colours were all very opaque which was a great surprise.
Makeup by One Direction will hit the following stores November 15th!

Through the Dark- Electric glitter poppy lip gloss that glows to neon red-orange under UV light. In my opinion, this gloss is more of a red toned pink. It was a really colour.
Kiss You- Orange glitter rush lip gloss that glows to neon yellow under UV light. I was shocked when I first saw this colour! It is a bright orange but on the lips, it turns into a peach colour because of the natural pigment in your lips.
Taken - Powerhouse glitter pink lip gloss that glows to neon orange under UV light. This one is my fave out of the bunch because I enjoy colours like this on me usually. It is just a great, super glittery hot pink.

Review: Loreal Voluminous Power 24 Hour Mascara
Loreal claims: "Power volume 24H Mascara delivers intense, dramtic volume that holds for up to 24 hours. A mega-sized brush deposits more mascara on lashes for quicker more extreme results, while innovative collagen formula creates captivating, voluptous look that won't deflate or shrink."
I LOVE this mascara with a passion. One of my most favourites so far to be honest with you. The reason I am so fond of this mascara is because of how thick it makes my lashes look. I like long and volumized but I don't wanna look like I have just 5 eyelashes. This mascara wand does a great job of separating the lashes and fanning them out but coating them well so they look thick and full at the same time.
Even though the brush deposits lots of product, I think it does an amazing job at holding my curl all day long. This is something I really struggle with and it is a problem for me with most mascaras.
Overall, I adore this mascara and I recommend it to someone wanting thick and full lashes. Let me know what you guys think if you have tried it out :)

Review: Yes to Cucumbers Makeup Wipes

These wipes are pretty good to be honest. The toilette itself is quite large and it gets quite saturated in the pack which I enjoy a lot. These makeup wipes do a great job at cleaning my face, refreshing my face and removing my foundation and other face makeup but I find these so stubborn when it comes to eye makeup. I have a really hard time finding wipes that claim to "remove waterproof mascara" and actually live up to that claim! I find that these pull out my eyelashes when I rub my makeup off and it's very frustrating since they weren't cheap.
Overall, these wipes are... okay. I would recommend them to someone who doesn't wear too much makeup (or waterproof eye makeup) but for a daily liquid liner and waterproof mascara wearer, these are not for me.

Review: E.L.F. HD Under Eye Setting Powder

So here is my review for you on my holy grail, E.L.F. HD Under Eye Setting powder! You can purchase this at target for only $3 which in my opinion is even worth just checking it out. It is usually always in stock and even target in Canada carries E.L.F. makeup for sale now. Although, in Canada, this product is $4 instead of $3.
I have had this for quite some time now and I haven't always loved it as much as I currently am.
This loose powder will seriously change any concealer! To apply, I load up a super fluffy brush with the powder and dust it over my under eye area. It sets it in place, keeps it on all day and it looks great. The look to the skin it leaves, it is so smooth and it feels so soft. I use this on other people when I do their makeup and they are amazed of the look and feel of this powder.
Overall, I give this product 5 stars! Without a doubt, it has become one of my holy grail products that I must have with me. Check it out and let me know what you guys think!

Review: Maybelline Colossal Mascara

When I first opened up this mascara, something that caught my eye was the wand and the brush. Normally, I like a plastic wand on my mascara but this one was a normal bristle wand. I was aware of this when I bought it and it turns out, I really like this brush. A lot!
One thing that "turned me off" from this mascara right from the beginning, was this huge piece of plastic that I found stick off the wand. Now a normal person would throw out the mascara thinking there could be more little pieces inside but I proceeded to use it. I haven't had any other problems yet, thank god.
I like how this mascara doesn't clump up easily. I can build it up for thick lashes or keep in minimal (like the picture shown) and have a really separated, natural looking lash.
One complaint I have about this mascara is that it isn't the greatest at holding my curl. I would prefer a little more curl power but many mascaras lack this quality anyways.

Review: MAC Crazed Imagination Blush
Hello everyone! Today I have a review on a new blush from Mac. It was just released a few weeks ago with the Rocky Horror Picture Show collection. I was lucky enough to pick it up before it sold out and today I will be sharing my thoughts on this product, with you.
One thing to watch out for is that this blush can end up looking like your cheeks are bruised. This is not a flattering look, therefore I have figured out a simple solution. When applying, place the blush more downwards towards the hollows of your cheeks. This is where you would contour. The more blush that is on the apples of your cheeks, the more funny it can look.
So to start out, this blush is the same size as Mac's other powder blushes. This blush does have limited edition packaging which is Rocky Horror themed. This factor also makes the blush a tad more expensive but only by a few dollars.
The colour of this blush is a muted, brown, plumy shade. It is perfect for the fall time and Mac couldn't have released this at a better time to be quite honest. This fall I have been very into the deeper shades compared to last year so I am happy I snagged this blush.

Overall, I am super pleased with my purchase. The packaging is super cool and the colour is great! You are very lucky if you could pick this up in time before it sold out.

Review: Lorac Pro Palette 2
Prior to buying this palette, I had looked up reviews and watch makeup videos about it. I had seen and heard many mixed reviews. Some people were loving it and others, not so much. Sadly.. I am one of those people. I tried SO hard to love it but something about it just isn't cutting it for me.
Some things that I do love about this palette is the packaging itself. The case is sleek, lightweight and looks very crisp and clean. It is compact and great for travel.
The shadows themselves are super pigmented! The most pigmented shadows I own in my makeup collection. They are buttery and super smooth when swatched.. and that's where the positiveness ends...
These shadows produce SO MUCH fallout. The most I have ever had occur to me. The dust tends to get into the other shadows and makes an unpleasant mix if I plan on using the others in my eye makeup look.
My number one problem with this eyeshadow palette is how hard the eyeshadows are to blend. I start by applying my lid colour, then I add my crease colour and it ends up patchy. It's like where ever you place these shadows down with the first touch, that's where they are staying. Blending is a nightmare with these and it makes me not want to use this palette that often.
Like I said, I love how pigmented these shadows are but the blend-ability just made it too difficult for me.

Review: Essence Long Lasting Lipsticks
Hello everyone! Today I have a review for you all! Recently, Essence Cosmetics sent me a few goodies in the mail. For those of you who don't know much about this brand, here in Canada, you can buy it at Shoppers Drug Mart. For you makeup junkies in the US, I think ULTA is the place to go. This brand is also sold all around the world so go check out there website and select your country to find out where to buy these amazing makeup items!
So another important, amazing thing about this brand is how inexpensive they are! Today I will be reviewing their Long Lasting Lipsticks. Let me just tell you.. these are AMAZING!! They can be purchased for $3 and are incredible! I am trading these out for all my Mac Lipsticks! I have 6 different colours and I love them all equally. These lipsticks come in a very large shade range so you are bound to fine something you will enjoy.
The feel of these lipsticks are very creamy. They apply super smooth and don't drag on the lips during application. Another good thing is that they will not bleed out of your lip line and leave a mess behind. What they do leave behind is somewhat of a stain. Which in my opinion, it is a positive thing. This is one of the only lipsticks that leave a stain behind that is opaque over the whole lip. Most of my lipsticks, when they wear off, leave a not so nice ring around my lip line.
Overall, you can't beat these lipsticks! They are super smooth and creamy. They are only $3 and the shade range is fabulous! They leave a gorgeous colour on the lips and they last long as well.

Review: Benefit They're Real Mascara

Before I apply any mascara, I give my lashes a really good curl. My lashes are very straight and need a good formula to hold them up all day so curling them is just me giving them a little bit of help. I applied my first coat on the eye and i liked the amount of separation it gave so I then did a coat on the other eye. By the time I was ready to do a second coat on the initial eye, it had drooped down and my lashes were straight.

Overall, I was disappointed but had a feeling it wouldn't work out for me since the formula wasn't waterproof. Maybe this didn't work for me, but it still may be great for your lashes. Let me know your thoughts on it down below :)

Review: Clinique Lower Lash Mascara

This mascara is made for coating your lower lashes evenly and completely while separating and lengthening. It also is supposed to last all day long and not smudge.

Overall, this mascara was a good idea but maybe their idea didn't follow through. I don't wear this mascara to a time where I know it may leave me looking like a raccoon. I do love the length but maybe if your eyes aren't as watery as mine, it may work for you.
