Fitbit Charge HR Review

Hey guys! Today I have a review on a new gadget I've been using that I got for Christmas this past year. My wonderful mother gifted me the Fitbit Charge HR in the gorgeous plum shade.

Flex push closure on left vs.
Charge HR watch band closure on right
The design of the band is very sleek and slim. I originally thought it looked very thick but I have since loved the convenient size the Fitbit offers. I find it perfect to view the screen yet small enough where it won't get in the way throughout my day or while working out. The band has a watch like closure which I much prefer over the other Fitbit products. My cousins has had hers fall into the toilet from how easily the band on her Fitbit Flex opens, this is why I especially love the design of this one.

I have always loved pedometers just for counting my steps but this little guy will follow how many flights of stairs you have climbed, how many kilometres you have walked, your heart rate and will also count your calories burned which is especially helpful if you log what you eat through the day into your phone. Another addition that I adore is the ability to add an alarm that will vibrate on your wrist, as well as being able to track your sleep. It is great to set for work or school as well as when to take medications or accomplish other daily tasks. Ever since starting a full fitness routine, I have loved using the heart rate option to see what heart rate zone I am in. It helps me get my heart rate high enough to ensure I am burning the calories to loose body fat.

My final thoughts on the Fitbit Charge HR are that I love it. I would 100% recommend it a workout junkie or someone who needs the extra motivation to get active. I love how I can set the alarm and also have the basic feature of a watch, telling the time. I love how I can use this along side my app on my Android too! Overall, very good product!

Favourite at Home Zumba Videos

Hello everyone! Today, I have gathered up a list of my favourite videos to zumba at home. This is perfect for people who don't have access to a gym or community club where zumba classes may be offered.

I highly recommend you try these out and just have fun with them! :)

This is a great starter one! Super fun and the steps repeat so it's easy to catch on and follow.

A upbeat one but still easy to keep up. Great tune!

A lot of hip shaking ;) a girly take on fitness!

I like this one for a warm up or cool down. This one is super fun and doesn't have a lot of intense jumping! Woo hoo... haha

Talk to you guys soon!

Zumba Classes.... My Newest Obsession?

Hey everyone! How have you all been? Lately, I have picked up a new hobby that has become a new love of mine! ZUMBA!!!

About 2 months ago, I discovered a Zumba program at a community club in my area. I was going into this looking for something new, that I hadn't tired before but still fitness related... and this my friends, is exactly what I was looking for!

My number one reason I love zumba is the music. It makes zumba feel like you're dancing and you don't even realize the instructor includes a squat or lunge here and there. The music is upbeat and the pace is fast but everyone does their own thing. The important part is to keep moving and keep your heart rate up!

Also, my instructor is super friendly and positive! She will demonstrate a low impact vs. high impact version of a move. For example, jumping up and down with a fist pump, can just be bouncing on the spot and grooving to the music.

Now I obviously haven't lost a ton of weight from this, but that's not what I am looking for. I just wanted something to do to stay active and be fit.

Here is a recent song we have been working on. This isn't my class in the video but these are the moves we follow! Enjoy!

I definitely recommend looking in a leisure guide in your area or something like the YMCA to find out if they offer weekly classes.

I believe this can be something for everyone! All ages are capable of grooving to some cool music! :)

Unique Ways to Workout

Hello everyone! Are you tired of doing the same workout routine every single time you decide to work out? If so, you might want to stick around, and read about how you can make your workout more fun and enjoyable.

The Gym is the most standard traditional way to work out. I'm not one to go out to workout very often but it is a nice option sometimes. I like that you are in an environment where you feel motivated. You also have access to all the special equipment that you might not have at home. For me, a downfall with the gym is the price. Even a membership will run you anywhere from $25-$40 a month depending where you go, therefore it isn't the most cost effective choice in my opinion.

Another way to work out while having fun but still strengthening and toning your body are the blogilates workouts. A super talented girl runs the website and plans all these super fun, awesome workouts for you and me! The thing I enjoy about blogilates is that you use your own body to provide resistance when working out. Therefore, you don't need all these super fancy weights at home, just to see results. Right now I am working on the 30 Day Sleek Arms Challenge and I really enjoy committing a small part of my day to toning up my body.

One of the more recent ways I have been enjoying working out is following workout videos. They have ones based on yoga or my personal  fave, “The Biggest Loser last chance workout”. I can work out in the comfort of my own home and not feel embarrassed if I look funny doing it!
